I said, YOOHOO, ALEXIS STEWART!
published by Fran SheaI can’t believe she doesn’t see me!…
I’M IN THE HOT AIR BALLOON FLOATING OVER YOU AND MARTHA!!
I knew it… She is walking to the mailbox to send a Zeichen Press card!
She ordered a bunch from our online shop, but due to doctor/patient (I’m the doctor in this scenario) confidentiality, I cannot divulge which cards she chose.
I CAN tell you that she is concerned about a funny-looking mole on her mom’s bottom.
Yoohoo! Alexis Stewart!
published by Fran SheaI’m over here! No… HERE! The one waving her arms and jumping up and down! …The one wearing the poncho and helmet!
She must not see me.
She did mention Zeichen Press on her blog. And she did buy cards from our online shop. I thought that meant she wanted to hang out and talk about black bean chili with butternut squash and swiss chard?
You can totally call me, Alexis!
Design, Letterpress, Creative AND Jell-O Shots
published by Fran SheaOne more trick added to our nearly packed act makes us four-trick ponies.
1) Design (obviously)
2) Letterpress (tons of it)
3) Creative (vague and non-committal)
4) Jell-O Shot Instructional Film Directors (why not?)
The Zeichen Press Headquarters were transformed into a satellite Jelly Shot Test Kitchen, complete with a tableful of alcohol and motivated (sober) women.
The prep was taken care of the night before the shoot. So as usual, instead of putting the kids to bed, we were busy creating fancy Jell-O shots.
See how Jen garnishes? With the precision of a surgeon:
A surgeon who has to delicately place lime zest on a patient’s incision.
Our talent (that’s what they call the actor/actress in the biz) was most talented – and her nails were perfection. And despite kids, dogs, cats, water balloons, side-chatter, and the tableful of alcohol – Jen kept things running as smoothly as my Grandma’s kitchen.
Two done. One to go.
Is letterpress too classy for you?
published by Fran SheaIt might be. I’m going to have to credit Martha Stewart with sparking the mainstream revival of the craft. Everyone settle down. If Martha and I ever met (someday on NBC 11:00AM CST) I would burst into tears. She’d slap me across the face and tell me to get ahold of myself. Oh, Martha! You always know just what to do! Zeichen Press has designed and printed its share of wedding related invitations – and we’re pretty certain that gives us some sort of carbon-neutral status. How? It’s pretty complicated – something to do with joy and decency neutralizing our usual gaucheness.
Hi, zeichenpress. Martha Stewart is following your tweets on Twitter.
published by Fran SheaOh, Martha Stewart!
I wish I could believe that you were following Zeichen Press on Twitter because of the recycled Panko Japanese Style Breading box/press kit I sent you last August…
Or because of the letterpress art print I sent you last October…
Or the baby I sent you last November…
Sankyou Panko Japanese Style Breading (box)
published by Fran Shea“How can we be expected to teach children to read when they can’t even fit inside the building?”-Derek Zoolander
It turns out that Panko Japanese Style Breading boxes are the perfect size for my Press (kit) Boxes! It’s true. Now my family will enjoy breaded EVERYTHING for the next two weeks.
Breaded meat, breaded not-meat, breaded bread… YUMMY.
The boxes have been turned inside-out, printed on, and stuffed with a variety of cards. I might sprinkle extra breading in for packing… We’ll see. I’d say that I’m sending them to my favorite magazines but that’s not entirely true.
Bass Master, Muslim Girl, and Quick Quilts didn’t make the cut.
Who did?
Oprah and Martha. And others. I think Oprah and Martha should combine forces, the masses would kneel before them.
